Who or what inspires you professionally?
I find inspiration in the observation of nature and peo- ple. I am fascinated by patterns, textures and systems found in nature and by how people move and interact with one another. I like puzzles, problem solving and putting things together.

How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?
I discovered architecture in high school in Puerto Rico when I wanted to prove through a science research project that the destruction of forests to lay cookie cutter developments had an adverse impact in the health of the environment and people.
What do you do?
I am a landscape architect and an architect. My interest in the symbiotic relation between nature and the built realm has shaped my career. I find the territory between open and interior spaces and between the public and private realms my home turf.
What excites you in the work you do?
A lot of the work I do as a landscape architect involves the design of shared spaces, spaces where people share experiences. Working with communities, inter- acting, learning and creating with them is the part of my work that excites me the most.
Who or what inspires you professionally?
I find inspiration in the observation of nature and people. I am fascinated by patterns, textures and systems found in nature and by how people move and interact with one another. I like puzzles, problem solving and putting things together.
What is your proudest professional accomplishment or achievement?
I try not to take anything for granted, the simplicity of seeing a project getting built and seeing how people use the space and make it their own is always one of the most satisfying and proudest moments I have experienced as a landscape architect.
