Tara has worked most of her career in healthcare architecture with a focus on acute care hospitals. How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?
Learned about Architecture in college, and made the decision as an undergraduate. Wanted to explore the intersection of art and science.
What do you do?
As a project leader I help teams win, contract, program, design, document and execute complex hospital projects, including renovations, additions and Greenfield projects.
What excites you in the work you do?
Watching Client's vision for their projects come into shape and form. Helping the younger generation of architects grow and excel. Establishing strategy and vision for the design team.
Who or what inspires you professionally?
The community I serve. Helping hospitals get built helps the people I love and care about get the best care when they need it.
What is your proudest professional accomplishment or achievement?
The day a client told me that I didn't need to attend project meetings any longer because an intern I'd trained was doing such a great job.
