Who or what inspires you professionally?
Being able to create a positive impact in the community. What we do really matters. It is tangible and sometimes intangible. We are able to use our creativity, skill, and imagination to make the world more enjoyable, inclusive, and sustainable.

How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?
Oddly, I didn’t realize it was architecture that I was noticing when I was younger. I remember asking my dad why the houses changed so much from the south to the north. He told me it was the weather, the environment, etc. After that I was hooked.
What do you do?
I am an architect who works on all phases of a project. We are a smaller firm, so that means I may be on a project where I am the project manager, design lead, and production lead all at once.
What excites you in the work you do?
My favorite part has to be the early/middle stages of design. When you finally get the concept down and the initial sketches/models come out exactly as imagined or better, that is the most exciting feeling!
Who or what inspires you professionally?

What is your proudest professional accomplishment or achievement?
Hands down becoming licensed. That was one of the most difficult, professional obstacles I’ve ever experienced, but I kept going. One of my goals since then was to help my fellow ladies stick with it and keep testing.

Lead Designer
Featured Project Description:
The 32,000 SF, Orange County Fire Rescue Training Center, focuses on the dedicated personnel who will function in the space based on three aspects: Training, Rescue and Community. It was important the design honored the firefighter and not the fire. The 60-degree gesture of the exterior concrete tilt wall panels pays homage to the emblem of the ladder as a symbol of connectivity and safety.
