How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?
I learned about architecture from my father who is an architect. He always had drawings and models around him. After 2 years of law school in Colombia, and having moved to the U.S., I chose something creative that could also help people.
What do you do?
I chose architecture for both the creative and the practical side. I am the creative director of the firm and lead the business vision for MOYA.
What excites you in the work you do?
Everything. Working with my clients, my team, the challenges and nuances of each project, and the strategy that goes behind sustainably growing the firm.
Who or what inspires you professionally?
My family and the community I serve. Using my profession to help others has been a key principle in my professional path.
What is your proudest professional accomplishment or achievement?
Starting my own firm has been the best decision I’ve ever made. I greatly enjoy how I have been able to shape the company, and I am learning so much in the process.
