Who or what inspires you professionally?

What inspires me is Music, Art, Dance, Culture, World History, Real Estate. My mom, family and friends keep me inspired. As for architects Max Bond, Phil Freelon, David Adjaye, Richard Mier, John Portman and Jon Segal.

Bio:

The great designer ,Monica Fenderson, AIA, NOMA, NCARB is the President of MOSA Design Studios, LLC. MOSA is committed to the community and civic engagement in architecture. Fenderson worked with Gwinnett County where she gained an extensive experience in architectural design and planning. She also worked in the private sector for renowned architectural firms on multi-million dollar projects Atlanta City Courts, Atlanta Public Schools, Dekalb County Juvenile Court, and aviation projects throughout the country.

How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?

Growing up in New York I was in tuned with my environment and surroundings. I wanted to solve community problems, housing, drugs, and crime. It was my eldest sister that realized this burning desire of mine and encouraged me to get into architecture.

 

What do you do?

I consider myself a community Architect. I truly help the grassroots community that needs an architect; churches, startups , and franchises. My background in Real Estate, Architecture and Construction allows me to create a one stop shop for clients.

What excites you in the work you do?

Designing is always fun but to listen to peoples dreams and then bringing it to life always excites me.

What is your proudest professional accomplishment or achievement?

Early in my career designing a Recreational Facility for an Orphanage Carrie Steel Pitts with TVS.

The Bailey Wine Cellar is an intimate Cellar tucked away in the Grant Park Artist Cove Section of Atlanta. The owner Cynthia Bailey venture to start a new establishment in Atlanta coincides with our business model as a community architect (MOSA). This location is known to host many special events and filming’s for the House Wives of Atlanta.
