MILLER NGO
Bio:
The Great Designer Miller Ngo comes from a low-income household and is a first-generation college student. Currently, Miller is a third-year architecture student at FAU. He is a member of NOMAs and AIAs. In his free time, he is an intern at Kravit Architectural and has been interning there since his first semester of architecture school. Miller attributes most of his success in school to the Kelly/Strul Emerging Scholars Program, as the program fully supports him through his five years of architecture school.
How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?
I was introduced to architecture by taking an AP art history during my second year of high school. During grade school, I was often interested in building models as a hobby, which eventually sparked my interest in applying to architecture school.
What do you do?
I just started my third year of architecture school at Florida Atlantic University and am also an intern at Kravit Architectural.
What excites you in the work you do?
Optimizing myself and my designs is something that excites me in the work i do, since every project is never perfect. Just pushing myself to learn from fellow students and mentors from my internship excited me in the work i do everyday.
Who or what inspires you professionally?
Everyone around me inspires me since everyone has a different design paradigm, and I am interested in learning from everyone around me.
What is your proudest professional accomplishment or achievement?
Sticking through my internship since my first year has been a big achievement for me because it was a challenge balancing both interning and designing at the same time.

Student Project
Featured Project Description:
The Design District Museum is a project focused on supporting those affected by gentrification due to the area's rapid development of real estate. The museum is focused on free interior and exterior gathering areas since the project focuses on giving back to the residents. Due to Florida's heat and humidity, outdoor spaces are undesirable. To counteract this issue, overhangs and openings are placed strategically in areas depending on the sun and wind forces.
