Who or what inspires you professionally?
For one, exploring and traveling. Seeing new things or revisiting places that inspire creativity. There is so much to see and learn from the world and all the beauty that surrounds us. Two, all the amazing designers I’ve worked with in my career.
JENN AGENA
Bio:
The great designer Jenn Agena, a residential and commercial designer with ACW Design Studio, has been practicing professionally since 2019. After graduating from Montana State University with an associate degree in interior design, she managed design and project management for large-scale, high-end residential projects in Arizona. In 2021, she relocated back to South Dakota and joined ACW Design. Since then, she has branched into commercial design and is loving the journey.
How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?
My dad was in the industry growing up, so between him and rearranging of my bedroom all the time, a seed was planted. Fast forward to an internship, when I debated between architecture and interiors, it became clear that interiors was the path for me
What do you do?
I am a residential interior designer. While most people believe we just chose paint colors and decor, what we do is deeper than that. I create spaces that function well for you while also creating your oasis where you feel safe, happy, and at peace
What excites you in the work you do?
Creating spaces that bring out feelings. There are things in my own home that when I look at them, I feel a sense of calmness, creativity, joy. That’s what I bring to my clients, emotion they need and want in their daily life, whatever it may be.

What is your proudest professional accomplishment or achievement?
Creating, learning and being able to work alongside many talented designers on homes that have won awards and been featured in magazines.

Jenn with ACW Design assisted with the remodel of this dated 3800SF home that was nothing but "potential"! Built in the 1960s, this home was purchased by our clients in 2023 and our job was to renovate the home in a way that felt true to the architecture, but timeless and personal to the homeowner. All new kitchen, flooring, lighting, bathrooms and pantry were just a few of the updates made to this gorgeous mid-century home.
