Who or what inspires you professionally?
I am inspired by mentoring high school students which are the next generation of architects in the ACE (Architecture, Construction and Engineering) Mentoring Program. I enjoy being the mentor I wished I had when I was a youth.

Bio:
The Great Designer Janel LeGard has provided architectural design services since 1998. Janel is a graduate of Tuskegee University with a Bachelor of Architecture. She also has a Master of Construction degree from Auburn University. Janel received her Florida Architectural license in 2009. Janel enjoys providing quality design services to clients. Her passion for architecture is cultivated and reaffirmed by supporting and implementing the vision of her clients.
How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?
I became aware of the architectural profession when I was in high school. I have always been curious about the technical aspects of design and interested in how buildings are constructed. I thoroughly enjoy providing design solution for my clients.
What do you do?
I am responsible for the development, interpretation, schedule & coordination of all A/E disciplines on multiple projects. I am the liaison between construction & A/E ensuring the completeness and accuracy of the project scope.
What excites you in the work you do?
I get excited when I see the construction of the designs, I have had the privilege to develop. Structures make a lasting impression on the communities in which we live and work for years to come.
Who or what inspires you professionally?

What is your proudest professional accomplishment or achievement?
My proudest professional achievement was the day I received my last passing ARE exam results. The hard work had paid off. My dream of being an Architect is now a reality. I now have the opportunity to facilitate the design process for others.

The featured projects display various residential architectural styles. Each custom homeowner presented unique aspects of their design preferences. I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to develop the clients dreams into detailed designs for construction.
