The Great designer, Diane is an interior designer who is driven by a passion for green building design, striving for healthy built environments. She consciously selects materials based on how they impact the indoor air quality and the wellness of occupants. Her project portfolio includes government facilities, libraries, healthcare, religious and educational facilities. She is committed to a philosophy of intelligent, creative and responsible design.
How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?
When I was 10, I had an older sibling studying to be an architect and spent a day in his design studio. The energy and inspiration inside meshed all the things I loved, from building structures out of Legos, coloring, sketching, and painting.
What do you do?
Collaborate with other designers, architects, engineers, and builders to bring to life a client’s vision. My focus is the interior architecture, from space planning to protecting the safety and welfare of users, to specifying the finish palette.
What excites you in the work you do?
I love to gather information, explore ideas and create, like pulling together pieces of a puzzle. This unique puzzle has many solutions. The key is finding the best one to fit the client’s needs, while satisfying any building constraints and budget.
