How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?

I was born in Singapore and migrated to New Mexico. I have been exposed to various cultures and different design aesthetics from city living in Asia and south Indian temples to southwestern cultures and it always stemmed my interest in design.

What do you do?

I am an Interior Designer for MHAworks (A commercial architecture firm based in Durham, NC). I focus primarily on the Life Science projects along with the workplace sector of the firm. Outside of work, I am usually found assisting local mutual aids.

What excites you in the work you do?

I love creating solutions for the challenges that are in design. I love that design itself can be a solution and using evidence-based research to help create an environment that is long lasting

What is your proudest professional accomplishment or achievement?

Graduating college while working two jobs and working to get my citizenship all at the same time was so incredibly hard. Studying for my professional certification while also working in the design community is a testament to that college degree.
