Bio:

The great designer, Dawn is Corgan’s interiors studio leader and large corporate office projects are her focus. She has led some of the most high profile workplace projects, with multiple multi-million-square-foot projects under her belt. She understands the value of consistent and timely communication to keep all the moving pieces working together. Perhaps most telling is that following each of these corporate campuses, she’s asked to provide services again and again on other projects.

How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?

In school, I was diagnosed with a degenerative condition that limited physical activity. I dropped PE and reselected an elective, Architecture 101. After our first project, I learned this was more than expected and architecture was my path.

What do you do?

Currently I am a Principal at Corgan and the Studio Leader of Dallas’ Interior Design Studio.

​

What excites you in the work you do?

I love my career and I have enjoyed almost every second of my 38 year career at Corgan, especially problem solving and growing our people. What could be more rewarding than that?

Who or what inspires you professionally?

The people in our firm, in our interiors sector, and by my teammates in our Dallas Interiors studio. The talent and projects we create every day blow me away. I am so very proud and inspired by the interior environments we create for our clients.

 

What is your proudest professional accomplishment or achievement?

Building a thriving interior design studio full of talented, dedicated professionals that go above and beyond for our clients. I am most proud of Fossil’s Headquarters which was a watershed moment for our practice and has stood the test of time.

Featured Project Description:

A 535,000 SF global headquarters relocation for Fossil, this project is a consolidation of employees from separate facilities into an existing building composed of two unique structures. Faced with many challenges, Corgan developed a complex strategy, solving to repurpose the buildings into a functional facility. Instead of masking the differences between existing structures, Corgan exposed their qualities, creating a seamless space reflecting authenticity of Fossil’s brand and culture.
