Who or what inspires you professionally?
I’m inspired by the beauty & intricacies of the distinct places where I have been fortunate to live at different stages of my life. The best design outcomes are usually a result of relevant solutions that are unique to each place.

How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?
I was exposed to design and construction at an early age through my family's small construction company. However, my love of the built environment and design developed over time through travel and experiencing diverse environments.
What do you do?
I design for clients ranging from public/private schools and national parks to large federal preservation projects. Most of my work is related to cultural and public spaces which impact a large variety of people.
What excites you in the work you do?
I live and work in a city that's exciting because it culturally and historically relates to the Caribbean lifestyle and elements that I grew up with - a place that is transformed by its own history and environment.
Who or what inspires you professionally?
I'm inspired by the beauty and intricacies of the distinct places where I have been fortunate to live at different stages of my life. The best design outcomes are usually a result of relevant solutions that are unique to each place.
What is your proudest professional accomplishment or achievement?
My proudest achievement is a 2023 AIA Aspire Design Award that my firm received for the first project I worked on. I'm especially proud of this project because of the difficulties in getting it built, while keeping the original design ideas unchanged.
Featured Project Name:
First Baptist Church Education Building
Featured Project Location:
Charleston, South Carolina
Featured Project Completion Date:
May 22
Role in Featured Project:
Designer
Featured Project Description:
The new education building supports the South's oldest Baptist congregation. The building is located at the center of the city's most historic neighborhood, adjacent to a c.1822 Robert Mills sanctuary. The congregation was determined to build less, but better, allowing the new building to sit comfortably amidst the city's most delicate historic architecture. The new building, the courtyard, and the sanctuary represent the three pillars of Baptist faith: Education, Fellowship, and Worship.
