Who or what inspires you professionally?
My inspiration comes from experiences I have had through travel, engagement within my community, and interaction with other professionals and designers.
AMBER BUSCARELLO
Bio:
The great designer, Amber Buscarello, AIA, is a project architect and a member of the Higher Education Sector. Her areas of expertise include programming and the design of instructional and laboratory facilities for colleges and universities. Amber was instrumental in developing a prototypical equipment schedule for the Sector that resulted in greater coordination between architects, engineers, and end-users. She leads her profession through her work for the Amarillo Chapter of the AIA as President-Elect.
How did you first learn about architecture and when did you decide that built environment profession was an area of interest for you?
Each of my grandparents taught me how to draw and paint. At TTU, I was exposed to many elements of design. In college, I was able to study abroad which started my allure for travel and understanding different cultures.
What do you do?
My role as a Project Architect at Parkhill means that I help to coordinate the entire project team including all engineering disciplines to meet deadline goals and fulfill the wishes and needs of our clients.
What excites you in the work you do?
I am excited by the engagement I have with clients, and the goal to help see their vision in built form.
Who or what inspires you professionally?

What is your proudest professional accomplishment or achievement?
I received both the Rising Star Award (individual) and the Building Community Award (group) for Parkhill in 2019. The Rising Star Award was based on a Master Plan with a trusted client. The Building Community was for work within Plainview, Tx.

The Abilene Science Engineering and Research Center is an approximately 29,800sf facility used for education, research, and business support. The research building will welcome visitors from all over the world in its educational lobby designed to showcase NEXT Lab and the possibilities with molten salt reaction.
